Disease A - Z > Psoriasis > Psoriasis Diet
|
Psoriasis diet starts with a simple healthy, balanced diet. People with poor diet are likely to have much worse symptoms than people on a well planned and balanced diet.
Drinking plenty of water helps most of the patients, at least eight to ten glasses per day. Eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables. Limiting the amount of sugar and fat in your diet will also prove helpful.
The connection between psoriasis and diet is more about eliminating foods that are triggers for psoriasis, meaning those that can cause symptoms to worsen.
The following foods are often triggers for psoriasis:
Juices of citrus fruits should be avoided. A warm water enema should be used daily to cleanse the bowels during the fast.
Refined or processed foods and foods containing hydrogenated fats or white sugar, all condiments, tea, coffee, alcohol and tobacco should also be avoided.
Note: After noticeable improvement, add milk and home made cottage cheese to the diet
Very important: The above diet is advised for people on homeopathic medicines only. This diet has been designed after clinically trying the benefits of this diet on various patients
